The Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) was formed in 1959 and has a vision of an environment rich in wildlife for everyone, valued by all. We aim to lead the way to nature’s recovery through innovative land management, and connect people with nature to improve their wellbeing. We work in partnership and through collaborative projects with local communities, businesses, land owners and local authorities.

This post has been created to lead the Trust’s People Engagement work across the area. This role is about creating and increasing positive impact for people by reconnecting with nature through the development of an exciting and diverse portfolio of activities.

The post holder will develop and implement one of the Trust’s key strategic themes to ‘connect’ people to the natural environment through engagement with schools, community groups, adult education, young people, public events including at Visitor Centres, wildlife gardening, wellbeing projects, ‘Wild’ urban Living Landscape projects and volunteering.

The post holder will be responsible for c. 20 staff who collectively deliver a wide range people engagement activity run from bases across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire

The ideal applicant will have a sound understanding of education, community initiatives and volunteering, along with significant experience of managing teams of staff and partnership working. They will be able to demonstrate leadership in previous roles and the ability to balance the effective day to day operational delivery of the teams, alongside compliance with Trust and partnership objectives.
