We are recruiting a full-time Senior Communications and Engagement Officer to deliver communications and engagement activities for the award-winning Moors for the Future Partnership.

Our partnership has been working since 2003 to protect internationally important moorlands across the South Pennines Special Area of Conservation. Scientific monitoring of our conservation work provides evidence of the benefit of the work and a programme of communication and engagement activities ensure the benefits of the work of the Partnership is widely known.

We’re looking for an exceptional communicator with enthusiasm for moorlands who can help us spread the word about the beauty and importance of blanket bogs. You’ll get the chance to lead on exciting initiatives including an engagement programme that will highlight the importance of moorland habitats to urban and rural communities across the South Pennine Moors Special Area of Conservation.

Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of communications and engagement, including solid experience of producing and managing digital communication. You’ll be responsible for a busy calendar of events, from conferences and seminars, to public and land manager engagement including utilising our state-of-the-art Bogtastic Van. You’ll also be overseeing the delivery of communications related projects including managing budgets and contracts with external agencies.

You will engage with a number of key stakeholders including partner organisations, land owners/ managers, and members of the public. You will carry out traditional and digital communications activities for the Partnership such as liaising with journalists, drafting press releases, website and social media content.

 You will need experience of line management as you will be responsible for 2 members of staff.
