Schools Active Travel Officer, IoM (Ref: SUS2547)

£24,204 per annum

37.5 hours per week – 12 month contract – based in Douglas

This new exciting role will promote cycling, walking and scooting at selected primary and secondary schools in the Isle of Man, as part of a package of measures to increase the number of pupils, parents and school staff cycling to and from school and other local journeys. You will also support ‘school champions’ and harness local authority resources to make links between schools and the wider walking and cycling community.

With a good standard of education, you will have experience of working with children and young people, delivering physical activity and engagement events and partnership working within a community-based or environment project. Your excellent written and verbal communications skills will enhance your ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and motivate and enthuse others. You will be IT literate, with excellent presentation and organisational skills and have the ability to plan and organise your own workload effectively. You will have an understanding of the school setting and the health benefits of active travel and be committed to the promotion of sustainable transport.

Clearance by a DBS Enhanced Disclosure check is mandatory for this role.
