Fixed Term Contract – 2 years – 35 Hours per week

The Role:

Zero Waste Scotland is looking for an enthusiastic, creative, highly organised Digital Communications professional to join the Communications and Engagement team, to work on exciting, high profile campaigns related to recycling and litter prevention.

This is an exciting role, working in a fast-paced environment to deliver engaging communications using a range of online platforms and channels, targeting both consumer and stakeholder audiences, with the aim of bringing about behaviour change. From idea generation through to planning and delivery, the Digital Communications Consultant will promote Zero Waste Scotland’s activity to enthuse and motivate our audiences.

This role requires an individual who can advise on digital strategy and tactics, best practice, and is abreast of the latest developments relating to digital infrastructure, channel management and social media management. And as a member of our Communications and Engagement team, you will have a flexible approach, with the ability to provide support to colleagues and work with contractors as required.

The candidate:

To be successful in this role you will be:

  • an experienced digital communications professional, with strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • experienced in managing contractors, particularly in relation to website design and build
  • up to speed with the latest industry developments relating to digital communications
  • Innovative and able to use a range of digital platforms to reach the right mix of audiences for our campaigns
  • experienced in creating high quality, compelling platform-appropriate content
  • confident in designing effective social media strategies and campaigns and managing social media for effective campaigns
  • excel at working with partners to deliver outcomes
  • a strong team player, with experience of working on multi-disciplinary projects.
