SUEZ recycling and recovery are looking to recruit a Recycling Officer to support our objectives to increase recycling and reduce waste sent for disposal in East Devon.

As a key member of the East Devon Municipal Operations Team, your role will be to encourage positive recycling behaviour, as part of a wide reaching and varied programme developed with our client, East Devon District Council.

What will I be doing?

  • Predominantly this role will develop, deliver and monitor projects to increase participation and recycling, delivering education and awareness campaigns throughout the area and supporting the contract’s operational services.
  • The successful candidate will have a passion for the environment and the desire to make a difference.

What are the requirements?

  • You will need to be a natural communicator and have the confidence to stand up in front of a range of different audiences and build positive relationships with them and other key stakeholders.
  • Having experience in developing, delivering and evaluating your own projects, will mean that you are confident at working on your own and with others to make these happen.
  • You will also be working with people at all levels, so you will need to be adaptable in order to communicate effectively with them.
  • With such a varied role, good prioritisation and multi-tasking skills will be essential in order to deliver excellent work on time and to the required standards.
  • An understanding of the waste industry or experience in an educational or communications based role would be an advantage, but is not essential.
  • A full UK driving license is essential for the role.
