We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious person wanting to take the next step to a permanent role to Senior or Principal grade available at Crestwood Environmental.

This role will encompass working on a variety of projects throughout the UK within a dedicated team of professionals specialising in Ecology, Landscape Architecture, Heritage, Arboriculture, Environmental Permitting and Water Management.

The role will include leading and undertaking habitat and species surveys across the UK, the design and implementation of mitigation scheme for protected species, and production of PEAR’s and EcIA’s on a range of projects, staff and project management..

The successful applicant will ideally:

  • Be commercially-aware with good all round knowledge of practical and legal aspects of ecology;
  • Be competent at undertaking Extended Phase 1 Habitat and Protected Species Surveys;
  • Have excellent report-writing skills and a good working knowledge of GIS mapping packages;
  • Be a protected species survey licence holder for 1 or more species and have experience of protected species mitigation schemes and development licence applications;
  • Be qualified to at least degree level in an environmental subject;
  • Have proven experience at managing other ecological staff/projects and contractors on a number of projects;
  • Be a Full member of a relevant professional institution (e.g. CIEEM); and
  • Have at least 5 years’ relevant experience.

Good communication and organisation skills are essential. You should be confident and tenacious, with a flexible approach to work and able to work under pressure to complete work to given deadlines and budgets.

You will report to and work closely with the Associate Director of Ecology as well as other permanent members of the Ecology Team.
