Kent County Council is offering the opportunity to be part of an exciting Heritage Lottery funded partnership project. This ambitious initiative not only looks to restore and link up fragmented chalk downland habitats across 10,000ha of North Kent, it also aims to reconnect the local community with this iconic landscape – and you could play an important part in delivering this.

We are looking for someone with a passion for the natural environment that can use their skills and experience to develop and deliver a wide-ranging volunteer, communities and people participation programme. Community engagement is key to the success of this project, so we are looking for excellent communication skills that can be used across a variety of channels to promote the project’s activities and achievements to a broad audience and engage people with the project’s work. If you enjoy helping people to connect with nature in new and interesting ways, this post is for you.

Additional benefits of working with us include flexible working, access to Local Authority Pension Scheme and support with professional development. A retention package is offered at completion of the contract and relocation assistance is available (both subject to T&Cs). This post is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in large-scale habitat conservation and eager to work with our partner organisations; secondments and job share will be considered.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
