Conservation Officer – Cleeve Common near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

Self-employed contract,  approximately 2 days (16 hours) per week for 12 months in the first instance

Cleeve Common Trust is the charity responsible for the management of Cleeve Common, a prominent Site of Special Scientific Interest on the Cotswold scarp and one of the largest areas of unimproved limestone grassland in Gloucestershire. As well as being host to many rare plants and animals, Cleeve Common is an important site for farming, heritage and provides a huge amenity resource for both local people and visitors from further afield.

We have an opening for a passionate and motivated individual to join our committed and flexible organisation as its Conservation Officer. Working with endangered habitats and species on this diverse and unique space, you will feel part of our team but will have the autonomy to direct and shape the priorities of our work. Our work is diverse and our approach is evidence-based and constantly evolving, making this an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference to nature conservation.

The successful candidate will work with us to maintain and develop conservation monitoring and management to inform our practical conservation programme, championing the preservation of this exceptional site to help to deliver the Trust’s aim to preserve Cleeve Common, its wildlife and its heritage for generations to come.
