We are seeking a committed individual with a strong background in community engagement to deliver the Dunsmore Living Landscape (DLL) scheme activity plan.

With main funding of over £1 million raised by The National Lottery and awarded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the DLL scheme aims to restore the most significant area of ancient woodland in Warwickshire, increase landscape connectivity through the restoration of hedgerows, grasslands, ponds and heritage sites and engage local communities in a programme of natural heritage-related activities.

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead and continue with the development of the community engagement work for the DLL scheme, nurturing the involvement of people living within the scheme area with their nearby greenspaces and key natural heritage sites, including ancient woodlands and grasslands in particular.

We are looking for someone with excellent people skills, knowledge of wildlife & ecology, a background in both community engagement & practical conservation delivery and proven achievements in delivery of programmes of activities. Being able to demonstrate a high level of innovation and enthusiasm to motivate, support and inspire others to get involved in our work is essential.

Further responsibilities include delivering talks and events, delivering interpretation projects, developing scheme publicity and working with a variety of community groups. The post holder will need to communicate well with a range of people from urban and rural areas, and will be able to demonstrate their ability and passion for people and wildlife. Building good quality relationships with partners, key groups, organisations and stakeholders is important to deliver our objectives.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make a real and lasting contribution: if this is you, we would love to hear from you. In return we can offer a great place to work in a supportive and friendly environment.

Post holder will be subject to an enhanced DBS Check. On occasion the post holder will be expected to work alone following Health and Safety guidelines for lone working.

Contract: Fixed Term Contract finishing Dec 31st 2020

Hours: Full time: 35 hours (5 days a week). 25 days leave per annum, with evening and weekend work as required

Interviews: Currently planned for Thursday 10th January 2019 (subject to change, successful shortlisted candidates will be informed of the date).
