Hours: Full time
Contract: 6 months

You'll be delivering an exceptional visitor experience at the site of a unique upside-down lighthouse in the heart of Northern Ireland's biggest seabird colony. Share the sights, sounds and smells of a real seabird spectacle, where thousands upon thousands of guillemots crowd the cliffs, alongside razorbills, kittiwakes, fulmars, puffins and more.

You'll welcome, engage and inform visitors, while assisting them to view the seabirds and explore the lighthouse. With excellent communication skills and an approachable manner, you'll convert visits into support for the RSPB through memberships, donations and volunteering. You'll be adaptable and able to work efficiently in a busy visitor centre to deliver high standards of customer service. Our team is supported by residential volunteers throughout the season, and you will be involved in leading the team in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the centre.

Knowledge of seabirds, other wildlife and the local area will be an advantage, or you should have the ability to learn quickly. Previous experience of working in a small team and/or in a remote location would also be an advantage. You should enjoy working outdoors in all weathers, and be able to walk up and down over 160 steps. This role will require working weekends and bank holidays.
