Sheffield has a rich variety of wonderful parks and countryside green spaces that contribute to our reputation as an outdoor City.

The Council’s Parks and Countryside Service team are dedicated to sustaining these high quality recreational spaces so that they make a positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of Sheffield’s communities.

This Project Officer post will take a lead role in the planning, development and delivery of projects and initiatives to support the sustainability of our destination sites. A significant responsibility will be to support the delivery of our Heritage Lottery Funded Parks for People grant for the restoration of the city’s General Cemetery.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Make a positive contribution to Sheffield’s great outdoor spaces
  • Develop robust business plans and proposals for service improvements
  • Be a great communicator who can engage with stakeholders and wider partners to optimise project benefits
  • Secure the finance required to ensure the sure-footed delivery and sustainability of green space investments, including income generation targets
  • Deliver excellent project planning and management. For the heritage project work this will include staff management responsibilities
