Footprint Ecology is a specialist consultancy carrying out work for Government Agencies (e.g. Natural England, Forestry Commission), Local Authorities and NGOs including County Wildlife Trusts, RSPB and National Trust. We undertake a varied range of conservation related projects involving applied ecological research, visitor surveys, recreation strategies, Habitats Regulations Assessments, land management advice, strategic mitigation schemes for designated sites and ecological survey work.

We currently have a vacancy at a senior level within the company. This post offers an exciting opportunity to work on ecological and access related projects on some of the most important nature conservation sites in the country. We are seeking an experienced individual, happy working on a varied mix of projects, able to produce tenders, manage contracts, write reports and present complex information. We require someone who shares our values and will work well in a team.

The successful applicant will have creative flair, excellent writing skills and project management experience. They will bring additional expertise to Footprint Ecology and will have a passion for nature conservation, a proven track record and a specialism in one or more of the following relevant work areas:

  • Recreation management
  • Facilitation and stakeholder engagement
  • Land management (e.g. management planning)
  • Botanical survey work, including vegetation communities and habitats

The post holder need not have experience of the full range of work undertaken by Footprint Ecology, but should be able to quickly grasp the wider context of any work directly undertaken, in order to appreciate how the work fits with wider work areas and our clients.

Please note that Footprint Ecology does not undertake protected species surveys for developers and is not looking for an ecologist who specialises solely in this work area.

This new post is advertised as a permanent position. It is being advertised on a full-time basis, however job share and part-time applications will be considered.
