Head of Camp Program and Camp Facilitator (2-3 year appointment)

The Camp Program is based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It currently provides environmental education, themed camps and holiday activity camps for international students from international schools in SE Asia. See www.threegeneration.org  Camp Program and family camps for young students and their parents who come mostly from China. Most residential camps are from 1 - 2 weeks long. Most campers are aged 3 - 14.

The successful applicant will head up a small international team, planning and coordinating camps, marketing the camp programs to target groups, working with the team to develop new programs and building the capacity of the team to deliver safe, professional activity sessions.

In addition to the administrative work of the Head of a growing department, the Head of Camps will lead groups on age appropriate scavenger hunts, bug observations, short hikes to hill-villages, and facilitation of reflection after adventurous activities including kayaking, biking and climbing. The successful applicant will also manage groups during cultural and craft activities and be able to facilitate discussion on living sustainably and the responsibility of a global citizen.

Applicants should have  experience of and enjoy leading a small team, managing a residential program, as well as a passion for leading young people outdoors.

The successful applicant will meet this profile:

  • University Graduate
  • Experienced leading students aged 5 - 15 in the out of doors eg outdoor activity center, scouts/guides, Forest School, Bushcraft activities
  • Enjoys interacting with groups of young people
  • Dynamic facilitator with good energy for leading children, aware of keeping students safe
  • Organised leader, able to pay attention to details and meet deadlines
  • A good team player and caring, approachable team leader
  • A leadership style that embraces the involvement  all team players 
  • Willing to immerse in all aspects of the residential camp program
  • Willing to work long hours and is physically fit
  • Able to embrace Thai culture and cope with working in a tropical climate
  • Available from January 2019
  • computer literate and prepared to complete office tasks

Additional qualifications that would be useful:

  • First aid
  • Lifesaving
  • TEFL qualification
  • Bushcraft skills

You will expect to grow the camp program by developing new offerings, working with different target groups and building upon the current good practice.

Traidhos Camp  Program provides: work permit and visa once in Thailand, simple room in a shared apartment, AETNA medical insurance and approx. 30,000 Thai baht per month
