Maintenance / Site Operative (Ref: SUS2508)

£17,970 per annum

37.5 hours per week

Based across South Wales with days at the Sustrans Cardiff office occasionally required 

Working along various specified lengths of cycle path, you will be part of a team which maintains and builds traffic-free routes in the area to provide attractive and safe paths to encourage more use by cyclists and walkers. The role will include the use of appropriate tools such as mower, leaf blower, brush cutter and other power and hand tools to carry out tasks. You will also liaise with the local community.

Experienced in general maintenance / site work, you will be practically minded and self-motivated and have IT skills. You will be willing to travel around South Wales to undertake maintenance duties in a safe and professional manner. You will have good communication skills and be willing to work with volunteers. It is also essential that you will be committed to sustainable transport and have an enthusiasm for keeping Sustrans paths attractive and safe.

Qualifications in the use of chainsaws and pesticides would be an advantage. A training programme to develop the skills of the successful candidate will be put in place.
