The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to join one of the largest independent ecological consultancies in the UK to help us to develop and expand our new arboricultural consultancy service.

You will have the chance to become involved in a variety of interesting, complex and high-profile projects for a wide-range of clients, and to develop your skills in all aspects of consultancy work through a structured and supportive review process and training programme.

What we are looking for

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous relevant professional experience (at least 3 years’ track record in arboricultural consultancy / in the arboriculture sector);
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment;
  • A good degree or diploma in Arboriculture, Horticulture or Forestry or a relevant equivalent;
  • Professional member of the AA/ICF or qualifications and experience leading to professional membership;
  • Holder of Professional Tree Inspection certificate (Lantra);
  • Knowledge and understanding of the UK planning system and current arboricultural legislation;
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements and experience of its application;
  • A working knowledge and demonstrable ability to use graphics software, including CAD and GIS;
  • Competent with GPS and computer literate;
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of BS5837:2012, including all forms of associated report preparation, methods of mitigation and arboricultural monitoring related to trees and development;
  • Confidence in written and verbal communication and a demonstrable track record in both;
  • Project management experience;
  • The ability to understand, identify and resolve arboricultural issues;
  • A genuine enthusiasm for arboriculture and the environment in the UK;
  • The desire to promote high professional standards in all aspects of arboriculture;
  • An organised approach to work, flexibility and a high level of motivation;
  • A full driving licence.
