SALARY: FTE £28,050 pro rata based on 37.5 hour week
CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent, Part Time – Flexible hours between up to 30 hours per week

Are you ready to run an environmental education centre connecting thousands of children with the natural world? Do you have the passion to lead a busy centre and the business skills to grow our operations?

We are looking for an entrepreneurial, creative and inspiring leader with relevant previous experience to manage a small team at Iver Environment Centre, a flourishing 4.5 acre site in the Colne Valley Regional Park, between Uxbridge and Slough. The centre boasts a variety of zones including native woodland, ponds, an orchard, food growing zones, a maze and a natural play area, and offers a range of nature-based learning activities for primary schools and other clients. Our services are consistently rated as ‘Outstanding’ by our visitors.

The position will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to build on our successes at Iver Environment Centre and grow the business initiatives that underpin our important work in nature education. You will be happy dealing with schools, children, private clients, corporate partners, budgets and business plans and will have the confidence to develop new areas of work and to establish a secure future for the centre for years to come. Main Duties

  • Undertake overall management responsibility for the Iver Environment Centre.
  • Develop and deliver a business plan that grows income and builds financial stability for the Centre
  • Manage the development and delivery of education programmes for school children and other client groups at Iver Environment Centre, Denham Country Park and Hogsmill Water Treatment Works
  • Manage the staff team and lead the delivery of education sessions ensuring best practice and high quality delivery
  • Develop and deliver a Corporate Volunteering programme at Iver Environment Centre
  • Develop and manage new revenue streams
  • Take responsibility for running and growing existing children’s birthday parties at Iver and potentially at Colne Valley Park Visitor Centre and Black Park
  • Oversee and support weekly volunteer gardening groups and other community users of the centre
  • Maintain and develop Iver Environment Centre grounds and gardens to ensure they are fit for purpose for optimal, safe, sustainable use in accordance with National Grid and Groundwork guidance
