Role Description

To provide technical support to the Cenex Transport Team delivering programmes and projects for our customers related to the development, deployment and analysis of new and emerging low emission vehicles and associated infrastructure. The job is open to individuals with some relevant industrial/employment experience.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Design, manage and run low emission vehicle trials and associated study aspects.
  • Operate and develop vehicle and fleet simulation models to demonstrate the performance of low emission and conventional technologies to fleet customers
  • Develop techniques and undertake analysis of data captured from a wide variety of low emission vehicles. Report and present on vehicles’ economic, environment and operational capabilities
  • Undertake market research and techno-market analysis on low emission technologies and products, write and present reports to Cenex consultancy clients
  • Develop and write technical papers and reports

Person Specification


  • Engineering or technical degree (2:1 minimum grade)
  • Data analysis skills
  • Analytical mind
  • Good communicator (presenter, writer)
  • Completer/finisher task orientated, capable of working unsupervised
  • Report and presentation experience
  • Driving licence
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Located within the Midlands, working from our Loughborough office


  • Automotive engineering experience
  • Vehicle modelling and simulation experience
  • Experience of low emission vehicles and infrastructure
  • Experience of vehicle telemetry systems and energy monitoring equipment
  • Relevant post graduate qualification
  • Interest in environmental technology
  • Motor industry engagement
  • Information collection, database and statistical analysis experience
  • Matlab, SQL, Python, GIS software
  • Language skills


  • £30 - £40k per annum
