Senior Administrator

Responsible to: The Business Transformation Manager, Streatham Common Co-operative

Closing date for applications: 9am on Monday 24th September 2018. It is intended to host interviews on Thursday 27th September 2018.

Job description can be viewed through the 'more information about this vacancy' link at the foot of the advert.

The Streatham Common Co-operative (SCCoop) is a pioneer under the London Borough of Lambeth’s Co-operative Parks Programme, currently managing the Rookery, the nearby Paddling Pool, and conservation work on Streatham Common. SCCoop is working towards taking on more management and maintenance of Streatham Common.  We are a not-for-profit social enterprise and work across traditional service boundaries to provide improved services, increase staffing levels, generate additional income, build community partnerships, support volunteering and skills development. SCCoop also aims to deliver other social value benefits for social care and disability, reduce crime and achieve a better balance between biodiversity conservation and recreational use.

We are looking for an experienced administrator with a demonstrable track record of delivering a broad range of administrative duties including taking on the role of Company Secretary, managing the finance system, providing general admin for our operational work in the Rookery and supporting our communications and external fundraising activities.

You will be a key member of SCCoop staff and need to be a self-starter, work with minimal supervision and be at ease communicating with colleagues internally and a wide range of external partners and stakeholders. You will have excellent organisational skills and be systematic in your approach to maintaining the financial system with specific focus on accurate recording of data on the sales and purchase legger. Although an advantage, it is not critical to have a formal book keeping qualification but it is essential to demonstrate substantive experience of maintaining financial records.

Finally, all of us here at SCCoop and our local partners have a passion for improving and maintaining the Rookery as a very special place for everyone in the local community. We are hoping you too share that passion and look forward to receiving your application.

In order to apply for this role you will need to submit your current CV with a covering letter. The letter should be absolutely no more than 1000 words (circa 2 sides of A4) and it should clearly set out how you meet the requirements of the job description attached (see more info link below for JD). Please also confirm the date you would be able to start, and the contact details (including email address) for two references, one of which should be your most recent employer.

Please email your CV and covering letter to Lou Kizwini at by 9am on 24th September 2018. Any questions can be sent to the same email.
