£23,000 pa (pro rata)

Paid • Part Time • Permanent

Sectors: environmental education, conservation & wildlife, food, farming & horticulture

Closing date: Monday, 8th October 2018

Trees for Cities is an ambitious charity aiming to green urban areas through community tree planting projects and vegetable gardens in schools called Edible Playgrounds.

Edible Playgrounds transform areas in school grounds into vibrant outdoor spaces that excite and teach children about growing and eating healthy food. By instilling healthy eating habits at an early age they help tackle obesity, food poverty and lack of access to nature head on, and provide a platform for fun and engaging lessons that support the school curriculum.

You will be responsible for coordinating project administration for the Landscape team to ensure that project deadlines are met.

We seek someone with experience of coordinating projects, together with strong organisational and communication skills. It would be desirable for applicants to have knowledge of drawing construction plans and design.

The successful candidate will help the Landscape team deliver creative and imaginative edible projects in schools.

This is an exciting position in a busy and friendly work environment.

Trees for Cities is the only charity working on an international scale to create greener cities through planting trees. Since 1993, we have engaged over 75,000 people to plant 775,000 urban trees in parks, streets, schools and housing estates across the UK and overseas, revitalising these areas and improving the lives of local people. We strengthen communities through volunteering opportunities and inspire children to grow and eat good food and to connect with nature.

  • A highly motivated and well organised individual with excellent administration skills
  • The ability to manage time efficiently and to ‘multi-task’ whilst working to deadlines
