Do you want to work on a key Welsh mutli-partner project leading the grazing elements as part of a small RSPB Cymru team? Can you inspire, motivate and empower others to improve Celtic Rainforest across Mid and South Wales and be the lead who will deliver a step-change in wildlife value of woodlands in Wales through appropriate grazing? RSPB Cymru in partnership with Snowdonia National Park Authority and others has secured EU LIFE funding for a Welsh project to restore a significant area of Celtic Rainforest. This ambitious 7-year project will deliver invasive species control, appropriate grazing, improvement in woodland condition, and community and landowner engagement.

RSPB Cymru is looking for a person who has significant practical knowledge and experience in securing grazing using livestock that includes cattle, hardy ponies, sheep and other appropriate grazers, and knowledge of appropriate infrastructure and lowering needs to secure grazing that benefits wildlife. The Grazing Officer will need to develop local relationships for a number of key sites across North and Mid Wales to secure infrastructure improvement and subsequently secure grazing via the use of local graziers that will demonstrate best practice across Wales and the EU.
