Easter Craiglockhart Hill is a Local Nature Reserve in the South West of Edinburgh – about 35 acres in size and with diverse habitats. The long-established Friends Group want to increase volunteer involvement, improve access and inclusion and develop land management skills with a view to achieving community ownership. The post is funded through a grant from the Community-Led Activity Fund of the Big Lottery.

We are seeking a worker who can:

  • Recruit and lead volunteers
  • Involve local people in events and activities
  • Network with community groups
  • Design or adapt learning materials
  • Use social media for publicity and promotion

We are looking for someone with initiative, creativity, enthusiasm and good people skills. The successful candidate will understand how to balance recreational use and environmental protection in a Local Nature Reserve.

The worker will report to the Committee of the Friends Group. Hours will be flexible and negotiable with the chosen candidate but likely to include some weekend working. Check out the full job description, conditions of service and submit your application on our website.
