We have an exciting opportunity to join our team, working proactively to inspire public and private landowners to contribute towards creating and maintaining the Nature Recovery Network and coordinate volunteer-led monitoring of core areas, specifically focussing on Local Wildlife Sites.

Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust’s mission is to connect and improve Gloucestershire’s wildlife and wild places and one of our key strategic objectives is ‘to create bigger, better and more connected places where wildlife can thrive. We cannot achieve this on our own, so we need to support other landowners to create, restore and manage wildlife habitat beyond our nature reserves. The Government’s 25 Year Environment Plan called for the creation of a national ‘Nature Recovery Network’ and we are committed to creating this network in Gloucestershire.

The post holder will lead the development of an evidence-based Gloucestershire Nature Recovery Network, creating a spatial GIS-based master plan for nature restoration covering the entire county. This map will compliment natural capital mapping being undertaken by our partners through the Local Nature Partnership. They will support partners to integrate the Nature Recovery Network into various delivery mechanisms, including through the planning system, agri-environment schemes, partnership projects, community action and through Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust’s Living Landscapes programme.
