About the role

Resource Futures is a growing business and we are expanding our consultancy team. We are looking for an experienced consultant who wants to take the next step to become a senior consultant or a senior consultant looking for their next career challenge of contributing to the growth of an ambitious purpose driven environmental consultancy.

You will have experience in the waste and resources sector operationally and/or have the technical industry expertise. We are also looking to build on our strengths in the areas of waste and resources policy development and assessment as well as plastics technical knowledge.

You will form part of the Resource Futures consultancy team based in our head office in Bristol. You will work across the resource efficiency area contributing to projects across the circular economy and waste services optimisation teams. The role will provide opportunities to work on projects helping customers based in the UK, Europe and internationally.

You will have a good understanding of one or more of the following areas: Materials reprocessing and recycling processes, and end markets; How private and public sectors operate internally and externally; Plastics technical knowledge; and Policy knowledge of the resources and waste area.

The role will provide you with the opportunity to work with wide range of customers including:

  • National Governments on assessing the impact of policy interventions
  • Local Government projects improving waste and recycling services
  • Private sector organisations on implementing circular economy business models
  • Third sector organisations working in collaboration with public and private partners to implement innovative and disruptive new operations and practices.

You will take a leading role in all aspects of consultancy work from compiling tenders, developing research methodologies, conducting technical research and producing and presenting reports and outputs to customers and sector audiences.
