About the roles

We are offering a unique opportunity for four Assistant Park Managers to join The Royal Parks on a permanent basis. The post holders will carry out a range of Park Management functions, assisting the Park Manager/s in managing the park/s effectively and efficiently whilst seeking opportunities for continual improvement.

We are recruiting for two Flexible Assistant Park Manager roles to provide support across all the Parks. This is an exciting developmental opportunity for the post holders to build up their skills and experience through working on a variety of projects and across a full range of operations from horticulture, contract management, assistance with delivering events and developing partnerships with various stakeholders.

We are also looking to appoint an Assistant Park Manager based in Hyde Park. The post holder will support the day to day management of Hyde Park, as well as contribute to the delivery of park events and ceremonies, including their planning, design, management and supervision.

In addition we are looking to recruit an Assistant Park Manager based in Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill. The post holder will carry out a range of Park Management functions, including amenity horticulture management, management of contracts, assistance with delivering events and liaising with key stakeholders.

About you

You will be passionate about Parks, hold a relevant degree (e.g. BSc Horticulture) or have equivalent experience combined with a broad experience of park management with a high level of proficiency in amenity horticulture. You will have experience of contract management and writing and presenting reports to a high standard. You will be adept in using IT applications, including MS Office and able to learn new packages quickly.

You will possess excellent written and communication skills with the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders. Partnership working will be a very important part of this role as you will be working with Parks teams, contractors, local authorities, members of public, volunteers, Friends Group etc.

It is essential that the post-holder is flexible and willing to work outside of standard office hours to support business delivery, including evenings and weekends.
