Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) has the lead responsibility for meeting the Scottish Government’s Climate Change Plan target for 20,000 hectares of peatland restoration each year. The main mechanism for achieving this is the Peatland Action project.

This post is a key part of the management team for the project and the project team with three project managers working to the project SRO and the SNH Peatland Action project board.

This post will lead on data management, with the other two posts focussed on peatland restoration and overall programme governance respectively. The Peatland Action project team will comprise around 40 posts with a mixture of full time and part time roles, and of SNH and project partner posts. The SNH posts will be hosted in SNH’s South of Scotland team whilst having a whole of Scotland geographical remit. The project reports to the SNH Peatland Action Project Board and the National Peatland Group (Monitoring sub group). The postholder will also contribute to the development of a wide spectrum of strategies and plans, including project communications and a long term strategy for the monitoring of peatland restoration sites.
