The British Trust for Ornithology is seeking applications for a Garden BirdWatch Development Officer (maternity cover).

BTO Garden BirdWatch is a national garden bird survey, through which thousands of people collect garden bird records, contributing to BTO research. We are looking for a Garden BirdWatch Development Officer to promote and share our garden ecology research, attend events, produce guidance and promotional materials, and to support volunteers and the public by providing information on garden birds and other wildlife.

The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of garden birds and other wildlife, and excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. They will understand biological survey data and be able to deliver this information engagingly to a wide audience.

Exact responsibilities will depend on the skills brought by the successful candidate, and may also involve survey data management, and involvement in our garden ecology research.

Closing date for receipt of applications is 1pm on Monday 30 July.

It is anticipated that interviews will be held in Thetford on Thursday 9 August.
