NatureMetrics is the UK's leading provider of DNA-based monitoring services. As well as providing well-known services such as eDNA testing for Great Crested Newts, we also provide DNA-based surveys of whole communities, including fish, cetaceans, mussels, and insects.

We are looking for someone to join our team to help look after our existing customers and find us some new ones. The job would involve:

  • Networking and visiting clients across the UK, answering incoming queries from new and existing clients, being a key external face of the business.
  • Liaising with our laboratory team to ensure that we always meet client deadlines and expectations when it comes to results and reports.
  • Marketing activities such as writing blog posts and updating content on our website and social media channels.

This role would suit someone who has worked as an ecologist and has a good understanding of our clients' needs as well as an existing network in the environmental consultancy world. We will provide full training on the services we offer, so you don't need to be experienced in genetics for this role, but it would be helpful if you had some experience of collecting eDNA samples.

It could also suit a candidate with a recent postgraduate degree in environmental DNA / metabarcoding who is looking to move away from a laboratory-based role and focus on driving application of these approaches in the real world.

As a start-up company, it's vital that our team members are proactive and self-starting. You will be passionate about biodiversity and the application of new technologies to solve age-old problems in this area. You will enjoy working as part of a dynamic and growing team yet with your own distinct role and responsibilities. As a key external face for our business, you will be friendly, approachable and a good communicator, verbally and in writing. Ideally you will also have some design skills.
