Education for Sustainable Development Coordinator

Full Time, 37 hours per week

Fixed term for 2 years

Grade 5, £22,214 - £24,983 per annum

The University of Winchester is leading the way in sustainability in Higher Education – it’s an exciting place to be if you are passionate about sustainability education and engagement. The University was the recipient of two Green Gown Awards in 2017/18 and received a 2:1 in the People and Planet University League 2017. This year, Prof Joy Carter, VC University of Winchester, and Tali Atvars, President Winchester Student Union, co-signed a sustainability statement in recognition of the shared commitment of all students and staff: www.winchester.ac.uk/about-us/sustainability-and-ethics/sustainability-statement

As the Sustainability Education Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of staff and students at the University of Winchester. Your work will have a direct impact on students’ development of sustainability knowledge, skills, attributes, and values – making a difference during their time in University but also in their future personal and professional lives.

This role is diverse in nature – in an average day you might spend your morning involved in strategic planning to embed sustainability across the curriculum and then your afternoon out on campus chatting with staff and students about a current sustainability campaign.

This exciting, fast-paced role will require you to be a pro-active self-starter with strong time-management skills. You will engage with a wide range of people, using your strong communication and presentation skills. You will have the opportunity to enhance your existing skillset and develop new skills in sustainability education, engagement, behaviour change, and project management through this role.

One of our core values is ‘individuals matter’. As an employee at the University of Winchester, we are committed to your wellbeing and development. You will have access to a wide range of benefits and support including complimentary access to the GetActive initiative, comprehensive staff development programme, generous holiday entitlement and pension scheme.
