ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANT – FULL TIME – STAPELEY, NANTWICH

An exciting opening has arisen within the Environment & Sustainability team of Promar International, the UK’s largest Agricultural and Food Chain Consultancy Company, for an Environmental Consultant. The team work across the whole supply chain from field to fork and we need an adaptable and enthusiastic team member to meet our growth ambition.

The Environment & Sustainability team is a growing part of Promar which presents a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to join a growing business. The role will report to the Head of Environment.

This role will be based in our head office in Stapeley, Nantwich with expected travel within the UK to offsite visits and meetings of approximately 60 days per year. Our UK office is based in Stapeley, Nantwich however; there is flexibility within the role that could include some time spent working from home.

The Role

As part of a growing team, the key purpose of the role is to:

  • Drive the profitability for the Promar Consulting business particularly with relation to delivery of projects focused on food waste, circular economies and sustainable agriculture.
  • Conduct detailed on-site (including on farm) data collection, completion of desk research and production of data analysis in an efficient manner, and to a high standard.
  • Producing technical reports for internal and external client projects which outline the; approach, findings, conclusions and key recommendations.
  • Responsibility for leading tender writing and undertaking business development with existing and new clients.
  • Work to build an understanding of key account management and build a prospect list of new clients.
  • Manage projects that may involve several team members and recruitment and management of external partners and associates.
  • Seek opportunities for developing commercial projects through networks, and tendering opportunities, as well as representing the Promar business at industry specific and relevant networking events.
  • Manage key accounts to ensure that clients’ requirements are understood and delivered effectively.
  • Have knowledge of the industry and activities which are relevant for the work of Promar.
  • To work well within a team and be self-motivated to work on an individual basis.
  • Be well organised, have excellent time management skills, high attention to detail and highly motivated.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

Essential:

  • Environmental Sciences related qualification
  • Previous relevant experience or an interest in agriculture and/or the food supply chain
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure to achieve set deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Work consistently to a high standard with attention to detail
  • Managing a range of projects on environmental and agricultural activities
  • Production of technical reports
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Previous experience in undertaking complex data analysis
  • A high level of computer literacy for Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and GIS.

Desirable:

  • Already had previous experience of undertaking business to business consultancy with relevant stakeholders and organisations in the environmental sector.
  • Be solution-orientated with a creative approach and producing technical reports for projects which outline the approach, findings, conclusions and key recommendations.
