About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join APEM’s efficient and well organised tender team as a tenders administrator. This is a crucial role with responsibility for identifying new opportunities for the company, and getting involved in organising our responses accordingly. The purpose of the team is to manage the tender selection process. We complete the administrative elements of tenders, and co-ordinate the completion of the technical sections by liaising with the scientists who have the specialist knowledge required.

Main duties

The role is process-driven and fast paced, assisting with the preparation of high-quality professional tender submissions, including co-ordinating, integrating and editing content to prepare a final version. It helps the team pull together to submit great bids on time.

The role is also pivotal in updating our internal client and work tracking database (SAP Business One) so that prospects are tracked from opportunity stage to tender outcome. It is a good opportunity to get to know the wide range of work our consultancy covers, and develop relationships to form a network across the company to create successful tenders. The role also has contact with other companies where work is to be subcontracted to them as appropriate to the tender.

There will also be a chance to develop marketing skills, including social media work as the post supports our Marketing Manager too. Day to day general office administration duties, including answering, managing and responding to incoming company calls and visits will also be involved in the role.

Person Specification

We are looking for you if you are well organised, communicate clearly, and like to use your initiative to delve a little deeper to uncover accurate details. Excellent IT skills are a must. You need to thrive in a process-driven environment and be able to operate a business system with precision. Ideally you will have an interest in environmental issues, and a passion to work for a company that is working to make a difference to create a better world for the future.
