The Camphill Village Trust is looking for a Care Farm Manager to support our Delrow Community in Watford.

It’s an exciting opportunity to lead Care Farming activities that create therapeutic and learning opportunities for people with learning disabilities and other individuals with support needs who to choose to attend.

The successful candidate will carry out day-to-day activities and tasks on the farm and gardens, while achieving agreed goals in a meaningful and safe manner. 

Main responsibilities:

  • To put in place the required processes and evidence the meeting of the Code of Practice as defined by Social Farms & Gardens , ensuring that the standard is maintained. To continue to develop a thriving Care Farm within CVT, ensuring that meaningful and structured work opportunities are provided to people we support, and all individuals have an opportunity to experience variety and progression.
  • To develop and deliver training units within the Care Farm, allowing the choice to undertake learning opportunities and evidence progression in line with CVT Training and Development Pathway.
  • Work with local and national organisations to promote the Care Farm in order to increase uptake and generate income from Day Placements, to make the project sustainable. Work closely with the Garden Managers to make effective use of the facilities, and equipment to enable a wide range of opportunities for those who attend.
  • Liaising, forming and maintaining excellent relationships with organisations, colleges, schools, and providers, within close proximity to the farm.

The ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience working within a Care Farm or similar care / land based setting.
  • Previous experience of teaching or delivering structured activities to groups.
  • Reasonable general education (evidence of numeracy and literacy).
  • Good IT skills.
  • Able to be sensitive, yet objective, about the needs of adults with learning difficulties. 
  • Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Driving licence – Essential (Not more than 6 points)
  • Tractor Driving Experience (Desirable) 
  • An enhanced DBS will be requested
