Back from the Brink is a £6.6 million HLF-funded programme delivered by a partnership of England’s leading nature conservation organisations. We have built a team of enthusiastic and experienced individuals across the partnership to undertake conservation work and inspire the nation to discover, value and act for threatened species.

Fixed term contract 01/10/18 – 30/09/20, Part-time (3 days per week)

As the Ancients of the Future Officer you will lead on the design and delivery of an exciting programme of activities to share the wildlife wonders of ancient trees with land managers and visitors alike. You will be an excellent communicator, understanding how to make technical natural history information accessible for all. Innovative engagement ideas and the ability to be well organised are essential skills. 

You will use your experience to deliver a programme of stakeholder and public engagement events to increase understanding, awareness and change perception towards decaying trees and the wonderful fauna and flora they support.

Buglife are seeking an experienced project officer to deliver a high profile conservation project. You will have a passion for nature conservation, and experience of working in the sector. You will work closely with project partners to secure recovery and long term viability of species reliant on ancient tree landscapes. Your knowledge and experience will help you to deliver a range of survey and prepare management advice for the project sites.
