Background and overview

Joju Solar is one of the longest running solar PV specialists in the UK and was the first installer in London to gain the MCS accreditation. More recently we have expanded our range to include battery storage and EV chargers. We pride ourselves on our technical expertise and have a wealth of experience delivering both domestic and commercial projects to the highest standards.

  • Joju Solar has secured a major government framework to be the sole supplier of Electric Vehicle Charge Points (EVCPs) to councils and local authorities in a large proportion of the South of England
  • This will entail the installation of >400 EVCPs over the next 3 years, with ongoing maintenance and analysis of these sites, whilst more EVCPS are installed in subsequent years
  • Joju is currently in the process of securing investment to deliver on this framework and will start implementation in Q3 2018
  • Joju is looking to hire a Programme Manager to manage the overall programme, including internal organisation and management of internal and external stakeholders

Key responsibilities

Managing key external relationships:

  • Working closely with councils once they have engaged under the framework to understand where they want EVCPs installed and ensure Joju has the data needed to deliver these installations
  • Managing the councils through a (pre-defined) legal process
  • Responding adhoc to Council requests for updates on individual sites or all sites they have entered into the process

Managing key internal relationships

  • Being the ‘point’ person for the technical team for all on-site feasibility studies, making sure Joju is prioritising the right sites for next installations. Equally, working with the electricians to make sure they are attending the highest priority sites for installation
  • Being seen internally as the ‘owner’ of this top priority programm

Providing regular updates to Directors on progress across the programme and at individual sites

Key attributes

  • Autonomous – this person must be able to work independently. The Directors of the business will be otherwise engaged in day-to-day operations of the business and will rely on this person to be the ‘face’ of Joju in many situations relating to this framework
  • Highly organised – there will be lots of moving parts and different relationships that need to be managed, as well as emails and datasets from different internal and external contacts that needs to be managed efficiently
  • Pro-active – this person will need to be thinking ahead in terms of both how to organise their workload and how to present information internally and externally as the framework evolves
  • Analytics – strong numerical / MS Excel / Google Sheets knowledge required to manage a complex and evolving data set relating to each site
  • Written communication skills – this person will be dealing directly with senior people at Councils, and will need to have sound judgement
  • Personable and flexible – on any given day this person will be talking directly to a wide of range of individuals internally and externally

Preferred experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a professional background, in a role that demonstrates experience across the key attributes listed above
  • Knowledge and experience of the renewables sector preferred but not critical.
