This is an exciting opportunity for four Regional Account Managers to join the growing Group Transport team at Energy Saving Trust (EST), working in an area of strategy priority for the UK government. You will be representing EST in the regions focusing on bringing support to cities in tackling emissions affecting air quality and climate change.

This newly set up team of four Regional Account Managers will be based in the areas they are going to serve and will be on hand to deliver DfT funded activity to local authorities. The scope for the positions will be broad and will focus on bringing solutions to local authorities to help reduce emissions. This will include promoting work with fleet operators, organisations, individuals and other stakeholders. An important measure of success will be the ability to develop business from local authorities and to leverage funding to support local initiatives. As an ambassador for EST in local authorities, you will join the dots between EST’s range of transport services to grow our influence locally and to provide local lead generation. You will also provide a solutions based link between central policy making and local initiatives to tackle poor air quality and reduce CO2 emissions affecting climate change. This will all be delivered as independent, impartial advice and support and will be pragmatic to ensure our audience are fully engaged in the process of change.

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Transport, you will be working with a range of team members, public and private sector companies and government officials to ensure high quality outcomes and continue EST’s excellent reputation in the sector. You will be expected to be multi-talented with a range of accountabilities including local project delivery, stakeholder engagement, influencing policy, consultancy, technical expert on sustainable transport and business development. This will require confident candidates who can wear multiple hats and juggle shifting priorities. You will have a detailed knowledge of a range of transport subjects including e-mobility, business travel, sustainable travel and travel behaviour. You will also have experience of working in or closely with local authorities and will understand the decision making process that takes place in transport initiatives at the local level.

Your ability to plan and prioritise projects and to influence results through people is essential in this challenging and dynamic environment. You will be a home based self-starter and you will motivate yourself without the need for micromanagement. Your strong written and verbal communication skills will be fundamental to your effective performance. You will be flexible as priorities change and will share the values of the Energy Saving Trust and will have an interest in environmental issues.
