Eco Attractions is a diverse group of environmental charities located across the UK that aims to connect people with nature and promote an ethos of sustainability.

In this new role you will be expected to use initiative and take responsibility for promoting the Eco Attractions Group profile, achievements, and growth. The ambition is to extend the reach, impact and membership of the group by promoting the work of EAG members and scaling up collaborative actions and initiatives. We are therefore looking for a well-organised results-driven communicator with experience of co-ordinating activities and campaigns.

You will be a highly motivated and confident self-starter, good at organising yourself as well as engaging and motivating others – including those at senior level, to work with you. As a communications enthusiast, probably with experience of campaigning or visitor centre education work, you will be able to demonstrate competency in social media and website management. Your track record will include evidence of ability to identify opportunities, to influence, and to find effective and creative ways to achieve impact and deliver results. Whilst this is primarily a hands-on role, you will have the judgement and discretion to think and work independently and strategically, recognising the both the bigger picture and need for targeted outcomes.

A genuine interest and enthusiasm for environmental matters, for education, and for visitor / public engagement are expected. Experience of administering groups or committees and knowledge of fundraising would also be an advantage.


This is a part-time fixed-term position available from the earliest date that can be reasonably arranged following an interview process. A flexible working arrangement is anticipated. This will be based on an average of 15 hours per week (0.4FTE). The post would preferably be based at one of the EAG member organisations or potentially could be home based, depending on the location and circumstances of the successful candidate. The post will involve regular travel throughout the UK (at least one trip per month), particularly to other existing and potential members of Eco Attractions.

The salary will be £25,000 pro rata (£10,000 for this post) or the role could be fulfilled on a freelance/self-employed basis – with equivalent financial terms – if this best suits the successful candidate’s circumstances. The initial contract will be for a fixed term of 12 months with the potential to renew. Subject to funding there will also be the potential to increase the working hours.
