What we’re looking for

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced senior ecologist to join our friendly team based in South Norfolk. As a small company this individual will be given a hands-on role and will gain experience in all aspects of our projects and day to day running of a thriving consultancy.

Minimum of five years full time experience in an ecological consultancy setting required, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject. You will have expertise in Phase 1 survey technique and excellent botanical ID skills, a great crested newt survey license is required and a bat licence is desirable, along with a robust understanding of other protected species survey methodologies.

Job role

Your duties will include:

  • Phase 1 habitat surveys;
  • Full range of protected species surveys, with expertise in bat surveys;
  • Undertaking Preliminary Ecological Assessments;
  • Undertaking Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA);
  • Review and writing high quality reports;
  • coordinating species mitigation schemes;
  • Managing projects;
  • Liaising with project managers and clients;
  • Supervising junior staff and coordinating projects;
  • Promoting and growing the business.

The vacancy is for a full time position on a permanent contract with a standard 6 months probationary period.

Salary and benefits

Salary: £28-£35k Negotiable, competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
