What we’re looking for

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced ecologist to join our friendly team based in South Norfolk. As a small company this individual will be given a hands-on role and will gain experience in all aspects of our projects and day to day running of a thriving consultancy.

Minimum of three years full time experience in an ecological consultancy setting preferred, along with a good grounding in Phase 1 survey technique and good botanical ID skills. A great crested newt survey license is desirable, along with a good understanding of other protected species survey methodologies. A familiarity with the equipment and methods employed in bat activity surveys is also desirable. Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject required.

Job role

Your duties will include:

  • Phase 1 habitat & protected species surveys;
  • Undertaking Preliminary Ecological Assessments;
  • Producing high quality written reports;
  • Assisting on protected species mitigation schemes;
  • Liaising with project managers and clients; and
  • Supervising field assistants and coordinating surveys.

The vacancy is for a full time position on a permanent contract with a standard 6 months probationary period.

Salary and benefits

Salary: £21-27k Negotiable, competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
