In this role, you'll contract manage commissioned new service contracts, as well as existing complex waste contracts such as energy from waste contract, biowaste, landfill contracts, adhoc waste and household recycling centres.

You'll also undertake waste and environmental research, consultation monitoring and analysis to inform recommendations and support decision making, as well as identify and interpret issues, trends and problems which may have a broad impact for the service, its customers and where relevant, for partner organisations. You'll lead on complex waste contractual, framework agreements and relationships, requiring a high degree of skill in negotiation, collaboration and influence and persuasion to support the Waste Management Service.

About you

You'll bring to the role a record of delivering measureable efficiencies and savings on contracts or other related commercial environments. You'll be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge and understanding of waste and/or environmental issues and waste diversion opportunities, as well as a proven ability to input into wider service planning, improvements and development activities. With expert knowledge of relevant systems, policies, processes, regulations, and professional guideline, you'll demonstrate a proven ability to identify procedural, H & S, best practice and legislation changes and implement necessary improvements and contribute to longer term planning for area of responsibility. You'll have experience of undertaking quality and performance, and management of operational contracts. An excellent communicator, you'll have first rate negotiating and influencing skills, together with experience of coordinating partnership working and building relationships with stakeholders of all levels, both internally and externally.
