Founded in 1903, Fauna & Flora International (FFI) is the world’s longest established international conservation organisation. Our vision is to create a sustainable future for the planet where biodiversity is conserved by the people living closest to it. We aim to do this through the conservation of threatened species and ecosystems worldwide, choosing solutions that are sustainable, based on sound science and take account of human needs. We have become a trusted entity in the world of conservation. Today FFI is active in over 40 countries.

We are seeking a team player with strong interpersonal and technical skills and international experience of responding to illegal wildlife trade for the position of ‘Technical Specialist, Wildlife Trade’. Sound technical knowledge of approaches to address illegal trade is a pre-requisite, and specifically in one or more of the following areas: influencing policy/CITES, building law enforcement capacity, applying technology to deter and detect wildlife crime. You will be a strategic thinker with proven experience in fundraising, project design, management and monitoring, and an ability to manage a diverse workload and multiple deadlines. You will also be a credible communicator, who is confident in developing and managing relationships with FFI staff, partner organisations and donors across a broad international diaspora. A good understanding of the need for effective information-sharing, collaboration and learning for conservation is also key, as is a shared commitment to FFI’s mission and values.

In return, we offer the opportunity to work for an impactful organisation at the forefront of efforts to tackle illegal wildlife trade, opportunity for international travel, generous pension contribution, attractive annual leave allowance, life insurance and salary exchange schemes, including Childcare Vouchers and Cycle to Work Scheme.

Our offices are located in The David Attenborough Building in central Cambridge, just a few minutes’ walk from glorious historic buildings and museums, the picturesque River Cam, the central market and shopping centre, and a host of cafés and restaurants.

The closing date for applications is Friday, 6 July 2018.
