Active Travel Project Officer (ref: SUS2426)

£24,204 per annum

37.5 hours per week - contract to 31 March 2019

based in Stockton-on-Tees

An opportunity has arisen to lead and develop one of the most successful behaviour change projects in the country. The exciting challenges of this role include promoting physical activity, health levels and sense of well-being amongst residents and employees of the businesses and higher education establishments within Stockton-on-Tees through the use of walking and cycling as a means of accessing employment and training opportunities, local services, parks and green spaces and the wider countryside.

Ideally, educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have experience of project delivery with a range of partners in a behaviour change or community setting, working with people from a range of backgrounds, of partnership working and have the ability to build strong working relationships. Your enthusiasm will be motivational to others and your excellent written and verbal communication will complement your strong interpersonal skills. IT literacy is essential as is knowledge of effective engagement and behaviour change initiatives and of cycling and walking infrastructure. Experience of cycle mechanics and ride/walk standards will be an advantage. You will also be committed to active travel and the promotion of sustainable transport.
