A pivotal role at Cycle Training UK (CTUK) overseeing the personnel issues of our workers located across London.

CTUK is unique amongst cycle training providers being a not for profit workers’ co-operative who employs instructors, most of whom are members of our co-operative, rather than using freelancers. This means our instructors receive a regular monthly income (above the London Living Wage) and are allocated work on the basis of their particular skills, location and areas of interest with everyone’s (customer, instructor, commissioner & employer) long term interests considered. CTUK has a completely flat pay structure, a zero Gender Pay Gap and is committed to workers’ work-life balance so everyone is employed part time.

The role is based at our headquarters in Bermondsey, a few minutes walk from Bermondsey, Canada Water and South Bermondsey stations. 

Responsibilities 

  • Monitor all employee records to include: timesheets; contract hours; working requirements; DBS; capacity; maternity/paternity requests; absence; sickness; and provide regular reports.
  • Develop and implement new processes to help CTUK be a better workplace for all 
  • Monitor and develop performance appraisal systems 
  • Manage Co-operatives UK HR Support Package 
  • Manage all recruiting matters 
  • Provide pastoral support for our workers 
  • Advise and provide guidance on HR policy and procedures 
  • Manage investigations and complex employee relations issues

Requirements 

  • Be passionate about cycling and sustainable travel 
  • HR experience at both strategic & operational level 
  • IT skills to effectively utilise HR systems 
  • Ability to work autonomously, co-operatively and in a busy open plan office 
  • Experience of recruitment 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Proven organisational skills and a good eye for detail 
  • Flexible worker and a problem solver 
  • Qualified National Standard Cycle Instructor or prepared to train as one (funded) 
  • Qualified CIPD member preferred
