We require an enthusiastic and highly motivated team player to assist us with the implementation of our Sustainable Development Strategy.

You should be qualified to a minimum degree level, (or HNC/HND with extensive experience) in an appropriate discipline. You will have experience of managing the development and implementation of a range of environment and sustainability aspects including EMS, waste minimisation, resource use, and awareness raising through effective communication.

Reporting to the Sustainability Manager, you will lead on waste management, environmental compliance, resource reduction projects and sustainability initiatives, through improved waste management and behaviour change programmes. The University is also looking to implement Circular Economy techniques to minimise our impact on the environment. You will engage with stakeholders throughout the University, and manage waste invoicing.

Experience of Microsoft Office is essential and knowledge of other software, particularly databases would be helpful.

Estates is committed to staff development and this post offers an excellent opportunity to work in a busy, dynamic and professional Environment Team where your contribution will be valued.

Further information and informal enquiries may be directed to David Stutchfield, Sustainability Manager, email: ds51@st-andrews.ac.uk, Tel: 01334 463976.

The University is committed to equality for all, demonstrated through our working on diversity awards (ECU Athena SWAN/Race Charters; Carer Positive; LGBT Charter; and Stonewall). More details can be found at www.st-andrews.ac.uk/hr/edi/diversityawards.

This role does not meet the minimum requirements set by the UKVI to enable sponsorship of migrant workers. Further information can be found at www.st-andrews.ac.uk/staff/policy/immigration.

In 2019 the University will establish purpose built office accommodation at Eden Campus, Guardbridge by St Andrews, to provide a state of the art working environment for a number of our Professional Services Units. It is anticipated that up to 350 Professional Services staff from a range of Units will be based in the new development at Guardbridge.

This post will be based at the Estates Department, Woodburn Place, St Andrews and then primarily based at Eden Campus following the Professional Services Relocation.
