Recycling Advisors/Monitors (Stockport and Trafford) – 3 posts

Recycling Advisors/ Monitors (Stockport and Trafford) – 3 posts

Salary:  £8.75 per hour

Location:  Across the borough of Stockport or Trafford (Greater Manchester)

Stockport and Trafford Councils are working with Keep Britain Tidy to deliver resident engagement campaigns across the boroughs of Stockport and Trafford. The resident engagement campaign aims to support residents to recycle more, recycle better and reduce the amount of refuse they produce.

The campaigns involve conducting a bin monitoring survey alongside doorstepping – a form of direct marketing that involves a face-to-face conversation with householders on their doorstep.

We are looking for three additional Recycling Advisors/Monitors to add to our teams who will work up to 35 hours per week.

Days/hours worked will depend on the task, with monitoring requiring an early start at 7am, and finishing no later than 5pm (although average finish times are 3pm).

Doorstepping times are currently (including an unpaid 30 minute break):

Stockport: Doorstepping - Tuesday-Friday: 11:30-19:00, Saturday 10:30-18:00

Stockport: Bin Monitoring - Monday-Friday: 07:00-14:30. Additional 1 hour for data-input

Trafford: Doorstepping - Tuesday-Friday: 10:15-17:45, Saturday 10:00-17:30

The project will start with training (dates to be confirmed) and is likely to run until mid-August for Stockport and the first week in September for Trafford. An extension for additional doorstepping could be applied, dependent on project progression.

These positions will provide excellent experience for those looking for a career in the environmental sector, especially the waste and recycling industry, and are paid at or above the Living Wage.

Full training will be provided at the start of the project.
