We’re looking for a team of people to work on two important recycling participation projects in Halton and Wirral. The work involves monitoring household participation in waste and recycling services and doorstep engagement for the purpose of providing advice and encouragement to recycle more. The Halton project will run during June 2018 and the Wirral project from June to October 2018. Work will include

  • Monitoring the set out of recycling bins
  • Knocking on doors across a designated area to provide information directly to residents and encourage greater recycling
  • Encouraging residents to participate and utilise the services correctly
  • Distribute information literature
  • Identify barriers to participation and seek to overcome these barriers

Who we are looking for:

No experience in this field is necessary, as full training will be provided although you should possess the following:

  • Ability and willingness to engage confidently with members of the public in a clear, friendly and assertive manner
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team to meet performance targets
  • Keen interest in waste, recycling and environmental issues
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to work outside in all weather in teams
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
