ABOUT US

The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity. We want to see a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife. The Trust aims to engage and inspire people about woods and trees to help us meet our vision of creating, restoring and protecting woodland. We own and care for over 1,000 woodland sites across the United Kingdom and support the creation and management of woodland on land outside the Trust’s own estate.

THE ROLE

The Project Lead will manage the overall delivery of one of our major strategic programmes, the Demonstration programme. The Demonstration programme underpins and informs our outreach, conservation and influence work. The aim is to demonstrate and evidence positive examples to engage and inspire those managing or influencing land management to take action for a more resilient landscape. The Project Lead will act as as the focal point for the programme; leading and implementing the demonstration strategy. Working with key stakeholders across the Trust, the Project lead will identify, develop and manage identified sites that represent the different land management systems we seek to influence, providing the social, economic and environmental case for trees and woods

THE CANDIDATE

You’ll be an expert persuader and influencer, able to work effectively and manage projects across multiple teams with a variety of skills. With a focus on results you’ll be able to simplify complex problems, processes or projects and evaluate them systematically. You prioritise and act with determination to achieve targets. In addition you’ll be a strong communicator and experienced Project Manager with a love of heritage and the environment. You’ll be engaging, skilled in moving talk into action and able to build relationships with a wide ranging pool of stakeholders.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

You'll have our full support, training and opportunities for professional development, along with a contributory pension, life assurance and good holiday entitlement.
