Project Officer, Communities (Cargo Bike Library & Repair Stations)

£24,204 per annum

37.5 hours per week – based in Edinburgh

This exciting and challenging role is to work with schools, local authorities, community groups, businesses and other interested parties to deliver the Smarter Choices Capital projects: Cargo Bike Library and the Landscape Repair / Information Stations (‘Nodal Points’) and to ensure links are made between active travel initiatives in communities and Sustrans projects including the National Cycle Network (NCN).

With a good standard of education, Bicycle Mechanic Accreditation and experience of delivering practical projects with community involvement as a core element, experience of organising group activities and facilitating workshops, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent presentation and organisational skills and the ability to motivate and enthuse others. The ability to develop productive working relationships and write and edit copy for websites is also required as is IT literacy, including social media and an understanding of local travel issues. You will also be committed to the promotion is sustainable transport.
