Job Specification –Senior Project Manager

We are looking for a motivated Senior Project Manager with a background in ecological restoration that shares also our passion for the environment. As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for a small team ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest standards. The role will report directly to the Operations Manager and work closely with Site Managers to ensure the successfully delivery of our busy environmental restoration and mitigation program.


  • Inspire, mentor and develop the project management team
  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with our Quality, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety policies and wider Management systems
  • Direct responsibility for individual project budgets and project planning, and working with Site Managers to ensure successful project delivery
  • Drive efficiency within the project management team and wider company
  • Provide input throughout the whole project lifecycle including tendering, design and stakeholder liaison

Person specification

We are looking for an experienced project manager, you are likely to have over five years’ experience working on projects including ecological mitigation, river & wetland restoration, fish passage and habitat management. We would expect you to be a specialist within a particular field, and to have the technical knowledge to ensure we are getting the best possible environmental gains on each project. Line management experience would be beneficial as you will have one project manager and two project assistants reporting to you. Along with the Operations Manager you with have oversite of three construction teams working across the country, also ensuring upcoming projects are properly planned. You will need to be highly organised and motivated. You will be a member of an appropriate professional body such as CIEEM or CIWEM, or at least have eligibility to progress membership.


The role has a starting salary of between £29,000 and £34,000 depending on experience. You will receive twenty days holiday, plus public bank holidays, with an additional day of leave accrued per year of service. You will receive a minimum annual training budget of £500 and a company pension.


You will be based in our Salisbury office, located in a rural setting in the Avon Valley.
