The Trust aims to engage and inspire people about woods and trees to help us meet our vision of creating, restoring and protecting woodland. We own and care for over 1,000 woodland sites across the United Kingdom and support the creation and management of woodland on others’ land.


As Site Manager for Hertfordshire, you will represent the Woodland Trust locally, managing a diverse portfolio of woodlands to deliver the maximum benefit for our core aims. You will manage the woodland estate in line with our required standards and guidelines and ensure the safety of yourself, our visitors, contractors and volunteers on our sites.


With a relevant qualification and previous experience in land-based management in the forestry or conservation sector, you’ll have a strong track record of budget and contract management, successful Relationship building and a proven responsibility for the management of Health and Safety on site.You’ll need to be solution focussed with excellent communication skills, be commercially aware and be able to work collaboratively. The Site Manager will be expected to live within, or within a reasonable travel distance of the management area.
