An exciting opportunity has arisen to help Derbyshire Wildlife Trust deliver its Living Landscape strategy across the north of Derbyshire. You will be our eyes and ears on the ground making connections with landowners and developing positive relationships with people to secure better management and protection for Local Wildlife Sites and the wider Ecological Network.

The post will focus on identifying opportunities for positive land management on Local Wildlife Sites and other sites of high biodiversity value and providing expert ecological advice on habitats and species. This role will also support work on our nature reserves and collation and provision of biological records. You will achieve this by working with partner organisations, land owners and managers and colleagues at Derbyshire Wildlife Trust.

The post holder will have a background in habitat and species ecology and management and possess good botanical identification skills. This post is an opportunity to develop and build on those skills working on a range of habitats in some outstanding locations. Experience with biological recording software, GIS and mapping is also desirable.
