This is a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of the Renewables Obligation scheme – one of Ofgem’s main schemes to support renewable electricity projects in the UK. Under the scheme licensed electricity suppliers in the UK are required to source a proportion of their supply to customers from eligible renewable sources. You’ll review applications to the scheme to assess whether generating stations meet set criteria and review monthly data submissions / audit reports relating to generators who are already part of the scheme to ensure ongoing compliance. This will position you as a first point of contact for enquiries from scheme participants, as well as a range of other stakeholders who present queries relating to generating stations – so you’ll ensure that all contacts receive a highly professional and responsive service, drawing on support and input from colleagues as required.

It’s important that you offer excellent analytical and numerical skills and that you can bring an excellent eye for detail to working with data (IT literacy in Excel, Word and databases is essential). You’ll need good all round communication skills and we expect that you’ll have proven customer service experience. Strong organisation skills are a must-have: you’ll need to be confident and adaptable in delivering against shifting priorities. And you should be able to play your part in building a positive team environment, while taking personal responsibility for high standards of work and positive outcomes.
